SaraScribbles Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Was supposed to make it for her b-day last year, but I was VERY pregnant and couldn't get to the sewing machine...lolShe's about to be 5 and her room is orange (but if she changes it, the quilt can transition too). That's her in the picture hiding in the quilt and her mom in one of the pics helping to hold it up. It's for a twin sized bed, about 72x90. Made it in about 4 days.(sorry about the fuzzy pic, she was pulling on me...) Quote
Candybee Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How pretty! I just love looking at quilts. Quote
SaraScribbles Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Thanks! I wasn't sure about the colors, but figured if her room was orange with yellow accents, I couldn't go wrong...lol And she loved it, so that made me feel good. Quote
sudsnwicks Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Hee hee, it would look great in my room, even though I don't have orange or yellow. Quote
WendyByTheBay Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I have a weakness for handmade quilts. That one is lovely! Learning how to quilt is on my to-do list...... Quote
Carlena Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 That is VERY pretty!! You did a great job on it & I can see she 'loves' it..... Quote
SaraScribbles Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Thank you all very much! The few occasions that I post something in this here craft section, I always feel a little silly doing it, cause my things aren't nearly as intricate as some of the others I've seen (I especially love the bags!!), but I greatly appreciate all the nice feedback. Now that I have a little more confidence, I'll post some pics of the other quilts I've made as gifts. Thanks again ~ and have a great night all! Scented Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Very colorful! It ought to transition well. Quote
Louise Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 It looks like your niece was just thrilled to get it! And to think it was handmade by her auntie! Great job on the quilt, can't want to see some others. Quote
