:sad2: Has anyone ever got an oil that seemed to be like baby oil and with barely any scent .. I applied it to my wrist pure and I can barely smell a thing.. this is not a liquid it seems like a gel

I don't wanna say who the supplier is because she frequents these boards...:tiptoe: but I think I have to find a way not to use her anymore..

I'm guessing the oil was cut or do some oils just come this way and its beyond being a weak oil its faint to nothing.

Oh well my KY order is supposed to arrive today that should chear me up :cheesy2:

Well you can do several things:

1) Always put an oil in an application first before making a comment on them (and your supplier will tell you that too.)

2) If you still get nada for a scent, contact the supplier, explain the issue. If you don't get a replacement or things aren't done to your satisfaction, I'd take up the issue in a different light or not frequent/buy from them again etc.

3) You can just leave it alone.

4) Just because they frequent here means nothing. Shame that it happened to you and maybe you researched on here about the supplier and maybe you didn't. Maybe there was something here and maybe there wasn't. Hard to say, but I think it can be done tastefully to say who it is. The argument is that others should have the right to know who it is and decide if they want to purchase ... and the flip side is, they can find out for themselves. You've already made a statement about the oil might be cut ... probably shouldn't have even suggested it if you aren't alluding to who. It could have been a weak oil. It might also turn into something in wax, soap etc. And it might not.

Have you tried contacting the supplier? Maybe it was a bad batch. I would recommend contacting them first to see what they say. Also, most suppliers in my opinion have hit or miss fragrances.

I would recommend putting it in whatever application you were going to use it for and wait to see. Sometimes fragrances have a faint smell oob, but come alive when put in wax, etc.

Hope this helps you.

It was only one oil that came in this manner (all the rest seem fine) I've been ordering from this supplier for many many years and don't think I can stop as I need certain oils they have..

But they do no returns.. as I had it occur once before that an oil was very very weak.. I have to say though all the other fragrance I got today is just fine. I mostly do B&B but just started doing tarts again.. I have serious doubt this would throw in soy as I can't even use it in a roll-on its too weak..

I could try though:)

My First order from KY just arrived:yay:

Super fast shipping and I am so happy with everything.

I ordered the cupcake tart holders - absolutely adorable

Also

Toasted Marshmallow -

Creme Brulee

Caramel Pecan

Birthday Cake - This is Better than my SoapnCandles Birthday cake its a bit less Icing and I like that alot.

All seem good and strong OOB

I also ordered the KY Tart Wax.. I have been using Ecosoya PB

I will test out this new KYwax and KYscents and let everyone know

I read so many great reviews about this wax I'm excited to try this out:yay:

Over the years I've used at least thirty suppliers and I can't think of one who didn't have a dud or two. It's just the nature of the business. Also I've found that there are a couple of scents that I just don't smell as strongly as others do. There's a very prominent supplier who has a vanilla I see raves about all the time and I can't smell a thing OOB or in a candle. I use several of their oils and they are wonderful but the one is a no go for me in any application. Other vanillas I have no trouble with.

I certainly wouldn't drop a supplier because of one oil that didn't work for me. I'd have no suppliers left.

I have used the manufactures oils. And the small companies oils. I find that the straight stuff is not oily. It is MOST of the time watery and strong. I also found that if it is more oily, it has been cut. Except for vanillas. There is a chance that it was cut a little too much. If you do not tell them, they will not know. They do not want to lose your business. If they tell you, that you are the only one complaining, as they sometimes do, then tell them you will have to move on. Most of the companies will take care of you, if they think you are telling the truth. Good luck.
