cestlavielumiere Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I was wondering if you can use Morton Sea Salt in bath salts? Also, I have been researching the forums and I cannot find a consensus :Natrasorb to use/not to useSLSA to use/not to useCyclomethicone to use/not to useCitric Acid to use/not to usePowder milk to use/not to use (Cannot find out why people use it, just it is in their recipe)Baking soda to use/not to useCorn starch to use/not to useGlycerine to use/not to useDry Flo AF Pure (? Replaces natrasorb) to use/ not to useI have read that you can use olive oil. Meaning the one we cook with?Epsom vs dendritic salt:read:Very confused. Quote
Scented Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 You probably could. Nothing wrong with the salt. Try it and see. Are you combining it with other salts? Natrasorb -- I use this in bath bombs and it tends to impart a more silky feelSLSA -- people probably add it to get bubbles ... otherwise, no need.Same with citric. Can't tell you about cyclo, but don't really see a need for it.Baking soda -- water softener. Corn Starch -- wouldn't use if you're using natrasorb, which is a starch. Both impart silky feel. Too much and tub will get slick. Glycerine -- not sure why. It attracts moisture to the skin. Yes, Olive Oil that you cook with. Epsom vs. dendric ... two different purposes. Epsom is good for soaking in and has more qualities. Dendritic is typically used to help anchor scent. Powdered milk -- gives you a milk soak and typically milk is supposed to be good ... been around since the ancients. Quote
cestlavielumiere Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Thanks. I am planning to mix it with different salts. I found a recipe that used Borax. I really did not feel comfortable added that to my blend. I have been trying to get a decent price for the supplies, still searching. I am in the research and development phase of this project (yeah for tax purposes). I am trying to concoct a few medicinal recipes. (Not like the one Granny uses for the Beverly Hill Billies). Quote
