DebbieTX Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Anyone have any ingenious ideas on how to package the round soaps? I've made a couple of batches in my Upland round mold and now thinking about packing them. I package my rectangle ones in Dan's Bands but I dont think that these will fit. I see that SW has boxes but you cant see the soap and you would have to take it out of the package to sniff. Quote
TexasBrat Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 The only thing I know of and have seen are people using coffee filters. Quote
Love2Scent Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Coffee filters with a nice round label in the middle is how we did it when we made round soaps. Quote
bugtussle Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 B&BW sells round soap and has a unique paper wrap. http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3516098&cp=2484530&cm_mmc=CH-_-20090311RESTAGE-_-9000105-_-subgifts&cm_lm=sugarmc@sbcglobal.netSaw these this am and thought they were cute. Meridith Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I can fit my round bars from my Uplands mold in a Dan's band with no problem. But it has to be the Dan's bands and not the smaller ones. I stick my lable on the outside. Quote
kidsngarden Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I use the coffee filter thing, tissue paper too, but that is more labor intensive. The only deal is that you can't see the pretty swirls so you have to have a bar out naked at markets. The BBW soap looks similar to the coffee filters. Quote
Darbla Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Somebody awhile back was using French fry bags that worked out really cute, but I never could find them. How do you make a coffee filter be an attractive wrapping? Quote
sudsnwicks Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Darbla, you can make the coffee filter look attractive but pasting a round label on it, just like in the BBW example Bugtussle mentioned. Quote

Carolethat's pretty much what the coffee-filter wrapped soaps look like. I can't handle tissue paper - I've no patience and it tears too easily.for those who don't know - you need a round fluted coffee filter and a roll of duct tape. lay the filter flat (open) on top of the roll of tape and put your soap in the center. Push it down and through the roll of tape and when it comes out the back it'll be gathered nicely! slap on a round label and you are good to go. Quote
kidsngarden Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 For glassine (like french fry bags) bags got to Uline. Quote

I was wondering how I was going to keep that coffee filter from getting all lopsided. I can't wait to try out my round Upland! Quote
Jeana Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I saw these the other day and wondered how they would do for packaging round soaps. If these were used, you could still see the soaps if you swirl. http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=11031&OVACC=Overture&OVRAW=tulle%20circles&OVKEY=tulle%20circle&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=4445260012&OVKWID=49294342512 Quote
