shantillescandlecreation
hello all,we just got 3 new molds from ebay. they are round tapered molds like the one in the pic. My question is there is now wick hole how do we use these so the narrow end is up? can I just drill a wick hole in the mold?
Sharon in KY
The bottom of the mold is the top of your candle. Or did you mean something else?
Firefly
I think she is saying that there is no hole at the bottom of the mold for her to put the wick in the opposite way.Hopefully someone else will jump in and offer some suggestions. I've never used a mold like this as I do all my candles in tins.
shantillescandlecreation
As you can see in the photo the narrow end is the bottom of the mold, which should be the top of the candle. there is no wicking hole in the mold so how to I get the wick to the top of the canldle? beechcreekcandles
Try using a wick pin. rather than drilling a hole and having to use mold sealer. JMO
Sharon in KY
I would try to find a wick pin tall enough and to fit the smaller end. But drilling a hole would work.
Jeana
I would drill the hole. It will be a prettier candle when finished. Some people drill a wick hole in each candle when they are done cooling. I woudn't trust myself on this one.How odd that it didn't have a hole. I've seen no holes in large pillar molds so you can put multiple holes where you want them. But for this one only one hole is necessary.
