FunFlames
I did a search but did not find the info I am looking for so my question is.... does anyone else need to wick up for this scent? It seems to need a wick 2 sizes larger than my other scents. I am using a 75s/25p blend in an 11oz metro jar. I am 1/2 way done burning the candle and still have not gotten a FMP. I have been burning on average 5.5hours at a time. I also don't feel the HT is near as good as it should be for this scent. I have a cd14 in it now, my other scents I have had to wick down to a cd12.TIA for any and all helpDanielle
DONNAMAC
I use 6006, and never have had to wick up. This is one of those scents that will blow you out of the room. I think it is very strong. What wax are you using.
FunFlames
I am using 75% 415 and 25% j223. I know the correct wicking makes the HT stronger....hot enough to release it but not too hot to burn it off. I am stumped!!ETS: may I ask what wicks you use with the 6006? DONNAMAC
I use the zincs. No soot when you keep them trimmed. I have found that with this wax, you usually need to wick up one size more than with other waxes, such as 4630 or j50.
FunFlames
Thank You for the help... I am NOT being blown out of the room so I need to keep playing around to see what I can come up with!!Thanks againDanielle
jennhalcyon
I had this problem with ST's Cranberry Orange Spice which smells very similar to CS Cranberry marmalade (to my nose anyway). I cut back on the oil and voila! Wicked easily and threw like crazy. Good luck!
FunFlames
jennhalcyon, did you cut back less than 1oz/pp? At this time that is what I am testing.Thank You for your reply.
jennhalcyon
No, I was using 1.2 oz pp and cut back to 1 oz. Could it be your dye? I a guessing you would have dyed it a cranberry/dark red/burgundy sort of color. Maybe try one without the dye to see if that is the problem? It could be clogging the wick. FunFlames
The dye I used was 5 drops red from peaks and 1 drop black from NG in 1lb of wax. I have used way more in other candles without a problem so my guess would be it is not the problem.Oh my head hurts LOL
