fmsojka
I bought some material, thought I would cut it up and tie around a mason jar. It ravils like crazy.Any suggestions? I don't want to spend much time on it. And I already bought some material, quite a bit. I don't have it here, but thinking it was gingham, does that sound right? I am so not in to sewing. tootie04
My grandmother used to use (pinking) sp?? shears....those sissors that cut kinda zigzag....she said that kept the fabric from unraviling....tootie
candlelady
I used pinking shears for years for my sq. mason jars, but after doing that for 6 years....I gave up...plus me and my mom have a touch of arthritis in a few fingers....Sure is cute though, and my customers just love it! chiptooth
Pinking shears work great but you could also use some Fray Check or when I am in a pinch I use my glue gun...let a little bit of glue come out and then run the fabric edge along it. fmsojka
You guys are awesome! Didn't think of any of those things, just sat and stared at my frayed ties. (Although I find myself sitting and staring frequently lately, wondering what to do next.)I don't know what I would do without these boards. Whenever I get interviewed, someone always asks where I learned to make all my product. I never hesitate to tell them the internet, message boards. (I don't tell them exactly where, I had to find out myself).I remember years ago going to the library and checking out craft books, trying to get them read, make notes, then have to take them back.
