vberkesch
Hi all and I know this has been posted, but having trouble getting my answers still. I DID - Put my OMH soap in fridg to keep cool, when it was done. I DID - add only 1 tbs/lb of oil, of honeyI DID - soap cool, at around 80 - 90.I DID - Use the Goat Milk ice cube method. Replace all water. The Lye/Goat Milk Ice cube mixture stayed a beautiful creamy white the whole time. BUT AFTER A WEEK - MY SOAPS ARE TURNING DARKER & DARKER AGAIN, Just like my first batch of OMH. Anyone have any suggestions - I've heard an ivory or tan bar of OMH can be had!! Thanks much, Vanessa
CareBear
cut the honey down to 1 tsp ppo and cut your milk back to say 25% of your liquid and you might do better.Oh - you aren't using an FO are you?

CareBear
Yes I am using BB's OMHwell that's your problem then - that FO does discolor quite darkly from what i"ve read on The Scent Review Board (http://soapscentreview.obisoap.ca/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=78&hilit=oatmeal)Some report only a light tan discoloration but others describe something darker. Sharon in KY
All you have to do is use a vanilla oil stabilizer. My friend gave me a bar of CP with Pink Sugar scent from SW's and it is still white and pink, over a year later. She used the Van Stablizer and all her soaps don't turn dark brown anymore. It is so worth it.
CareBear
not to go OT - maybe I'll start a thread on it - but I used BCN's vanilla stabilizer with SW's Pink Sugar and had "grit" in my soap. I'm not the only one to experience this. darn it all!yes, off to start a vanilla stabilizer thread...
singleyellowrose
You could either try a different co.'s FO or add some TD to the batch.OMH from OM (now Southern Gardens) doesn't discolor too much.
