Dana
I just recently switched to 444 and now I am having problems with black soot-like swirls in the wax once the wax gets down to the bottom half of the jar. Never had this with my other wax. Throw is still great, flame, and melt pool still great. It's just this darn black stuff swirling in the wax. Sometimes it is just coming from one wick (I double wick these jars). It doesn't seem to happen on single wicked jars, although I color those and maybe I need to go back and check real close. Does anyone know what it is? Should I cut back on f/o? I really like the throw and I use 1.35 (roughly) pp of wax. I know it has something to do with the oxygen level because it doesn't happen until the bottom half. I just don't know how to fix it! Dana
Thought I'd better post my results for anyone interested. I wicked down one size and added just a little less f/o and that seemed to help. The flames still dance a little, but much better!
