I actually like "The Scented Hearth"! Even Stone Hearth, which could be anything. How about "Mountain Firelight"? Or Firelight on the Mountain? That could be anything...I asked my mom about stitches n wicks she said , whatever I wanted, i could pick the name.

I'm taking all these names and ideas that have been posted and putting them before a vote of all my friends and family Nov 1! (My sister is hosting mom and me a candle party) I am also letting them add their suggestions. I'll let you all know what happens!

Please keep posting ideas and names, I won't print them out until October 30 or 31. This is actually getting fun to me now that I am dropping my opinion of what or how the name should go! I am listening to everthing.............!

Yeah, Hearth is part of a fireplace, its just that is conjures up that whole "rustic, earthy" thing I love! Imagine an Old English cottage on the edge of the moor......Its cold and rainy, there is a stone fireplace in the middle of the room with a blazing fire keeping everything warm and cozy....let's sit by the hearth. The smell of baking bread or the wonderful aroma of a crackling fire fill the room......Another meaning for hearth is: family life, home...............Oh I'm liking this name.............Thats one thing in common all my work has that I haven't thought of. Its all done in my garage so I can be a stay at home mom. i do candles with my mom, various family members help out when needed...It is family life, my home...........What do you think? If this doesn't affect anyone else this way, i concede my opinion , again! lol!

I just think of a cold, rocky wall with some black soot. LOL. But that's only me, and my thoughts - if YOU love it, you go for it! There are tons of names out there that I think are very weird for what they offer, or just sound god awful - BUT they make sales and people love their names. (Not saying YOURS is god awful, just an example lol.)

Actually I see hearth as the heart of the heat, warmth, a place for all to be, to sit, share, display etc. and not some cold rocky wall ... don't know where that conjured image came up and don't want to know either.

I know in my family, the grandmothers used to knit near the fire, tell stories by the fire etc. and a lot of celebrations etc. were by the fireplace with the mantle or hearth always decorated with pieces of the family unit.

No, it's just that I rarely see fireplaces in use, it's always just there, cold and empty. We had one, and it was nice by the fire but the bricks were so damn cold you couldn't sit in front of it, unless you plopped down on the floor and hoped your hair didn't catch fire when you leaned. :grin2:

None of my family ever had fireplaces until we moved into a house in Georgia with one when I was 18. Marrying Cory, I see lots of fireplaces, but rarely ever in use.
