dirtybirdsoaps
Forgive me if this is the wrong section to post this, but I figured technically it goes on your skin sorta LOLIm making my own laundry starch now, and was going to make it for some friends and family as well.....my question is "What preservative would I use?" and also is there a natural preservative I could use?" and any idea on the shelf life with a preservative? I apologize if this sounds stupid but Im clueless when it comes to preservatives. I can make my own laundry starch every few days but I doubt friends and family will keep up with it.Any help is appreciated.
TheQueen
Why would it need a preservative?
dirtybirdsoaps
Id assume because it has water? I dont know much about preservatives, but I was reading a bunch of web sites that said it can be used for a few days, but thats it because of bacteria. TheQueen
What are the ingredients?
dirtybirdsoaps
just plain old cornstarch and water. It works really well, and its cheaper LOL I just make mine once or twice a week when I have to iron, but Id like to give it as a gift since Im doing gift baskets for my family for xmas and I know they wont make it every couple of days. TheQueen
It sounds like a good idea but probably is not practical since it won't keep long without refrigeration. Why don't you give them a small amount along with instructions on how to make more if they like it, especially since it's so simple to make.
