Faye_SC
I made a batch of CP today, and put it in the mold. I noticed that the level didn't come up as far on my mold, and THE LIGHT came on.I LEFT 14 oz of canola oil out. DUMB< DUMB< DUMB.I hurried and threw it back in the pot and added the missing oil. Gave it a good stir, and all looked fine.It is now gelling.Do you think I will have any problems with this batch?
topofmurrayhill
If the missing oil was incorporated thoroughly and evenly, there shouldn't be any problem. It's lucky if you had time to do that before it thickened up too much.
Faye_SC
It was beginning to, but I got her done. I don't think I have ever moved so fast.I hope I stirred it enough, I don't see any oil rising or pooling on top, we'll see, when I unmold tomorrow. Thanks
Scented
Ahhhh. Yes, amazing how fast one can work. Hope you got it incorporated.
Faye_SC
Got it unmolded today, looks good so far. I still need to cut it.
Amylynn
As long as the oil is incorporated well into the existing batch you should be ok. I'd be concerned with lye heavy areas if it didn't.
Crafty1_AJ
I once had a batch in full gel when I realized I'd left out an oil. Scooped the glop back into the pot and did an instant rebatch.Lemme tell ya, those bars were the BUGLIEST soaps known to humankind.
Faye_SC
Well, so far so good. They have been cut and I haven't seen anything draining, or any wet spots.Keep your fingers crossed for me.
usairforce
I think they will be just fine. I do HP and I have done that before, only noticing after the soap had been cooking for a bit and I just threw in the oil and blended the heck out of it! It came out just fine, so I am sure that yours will be just lovely. Hugs, Branda
