leisa2003
Is it safe to use a firestarter in a wood burning stove?:embarasse
coconut
If it is a good quality stove and properly installed, I don't see why not. It there a removable ash pan? Remember the stove and chimney need to be cleaned regulary no matter what you burn in it.

Sag_77
My parents have a stove and a brick fireplace and they use the ones I make all the time in both. In a stove there is no concern about staining. In a fireplace if your concerned about staining then just place a log under the firestarter and build the fire from there. Beth-VT
If it is a 'catalytic' type.....absolutely not. And the newer 'non catalytic' technology I would say no to as well, they say "no petroleum products".
leisa2003
Yes, their is a ash pan.How do I know if its "catalytic" type?I know its cast iron, with a blower motor in the back. And the actual cast iron pit, sits inside the protective metal casing thats around it. :embarasse
