wax question for pies

I'm thinking about trying to make some of the fruit pies and was wondering if I need to use paraffin for the fruit? I only have soy and palm wax right now. I know I need gel for around the fruit and something with a high melt point for the berries/fruit but wasn't sure what to use.

Really don't want to buy bunch of waxes if I don't need to.

Hi Kandle Krazy....you don't have to use gel unless you need that look, but you are limited with the fo's you can use with gel. I have always used my higher mp wax for the crust and then container soy/paraffin for pie filling. I use a braided ring crust and pile the wax high, and stick the fruit embeds around and they are so cute...I use 3 small wicks. Just a thought and then you can use all soy. :)
