They are interested in buying my current inventory but they do not have a tax id. They would be buying to resell. Who collects the taxes in this case? Are they to report this or am I to collect it from them on the amount they pay me? I'm assuming they are responsible for paying the taxes but I may be wrong. Please clarify if you know. islandgirl Posted July 2, 2008 Share Posted July 2, 2008 If they are buying to resell and do not have a sales tax ID #, then I would charge them sales tax when they buy it from you..What they do with it afterward is their responsibility regarding sales tax and the fundraiser.
