wicked1
Could someone please tell me how, if any, beeswax affects the burn of soy? I don't know anything about the burning characteristics of beeswax. Will I just wick my testers the same, or do I need to make some changes? Thanks much
Henryk
If you are adding it like an additive, say 3% or so, it never changed my wicking at all. Not enough to make a difference.
itsallgood20
Beeswax is a great additive to soy. I add about 3% overall, whereas others may add anywhere between 2-4%. For me, it adds temperance to the soy meaning smoother tops and slows the burning just a bit. It really shouldn't take you out of the ballpark on wicking. Just test a couple and take notes. wildangel112
I add 1/2oz. per lb. of soy. It gives me much smoother tops, and extends my burn time noticeably.
Kaybee23
I agree with everyone else. I add 4% to mine and it helps smooth out the tops after each burn, helps with the throw and a little with the frosting problems. Everyone is different so you just need to play around with it. I wouldn't add more than 5%, then it starts causing cracking in your wax.
Lorrie
Depending on what type of soy wax you may have to wick up alittle bit. You are going to have to do some testing to see what works for you.
