Beeswax in soy

Recommended Posts

Could someone please tell me how, if any, beeswax affects the burn of soy? I don't know anything about the burning characteristics of beeswax. Will I just wick my testers the same, or do I need to make some changes? Thanks much

Beeswax is a great additive to soy. I add about 3% overall, whereas others may add anywhere between 2-4%. For me, it adds temperance to the soy meaning smoother tops and slows the burning just a bit. It really shouldn't take you out of the ballpark on wicking. Just test a couple and take notes. HTH

I agree with everyone else. I add 4% to mine and it helps smooth out the tops after each burn, helps with the throw and a little with the frosting problems. Everyone is different so you just need to play around with it. I wouldn't add more than 5%, then it starts causing cracking in your wax.
