blondiee
Has anyone tried this?http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=cWax+Additives,p1030"Palm Wax Additive HA is an all-natural additive that is used with Palm-2 & 3 to help with mold release. The suggested use of the additive is 1-2% byweight. Using higher percentages can affect the crystalline and feathering design of the finished candle." Stella1952
I haven't used it. I get great results using palm stearic acid for pillars and votive palm wax blends to help with mold release. Never had a problem with palm wax not releasing.
cybersix
I have a lot of problems with my pillars.. they don't come out of molds.I was using candlewic waxes, now nuscents and it's always the same. And, if I add stearic acid, pillars come out deformed.Maybe I should try that additive LOLAnyway in these days I'm playing with pouring temps to see if things get better! blondiee
I've been reading up on hurricanes and "forever" pillars and noticed some people have had aggravation with palm (the feathering variety, specifically) not releasing very well from their molds. Since I've been a container-candle kinda gal and have absolutely NO pillar making experience, I decided to go ahead and order some of this - it's not terribly expensive. I'll try to keep you posted as to how it works. Keep in mind, however, that when it comes to pillars, I haven't got a clue what I'm doing (yet!).............
