LovelyLathers
Since I have done this the past few fridays and people seem to enjoy it I will do it again. I am making Jasmine soap with Jasmine rice water, I heard the rice water makes a great creamy silky soap. I am going to work on an emulisified mechanic scrub. I need to spend sometime boxing and labeling 500 plus soaps, my rack is overflowing. The weather is suppose to be rainy so it won't be a chore to stay home and work! Scent Cellar
I am going to make a Black Raspberry Vanilla soap and instead of swirls I am going to layer the soap in three colors.

I would KILL for a bar of that. lol Where the hell do you get Jasmine Rice Water? I'm assuming just by soaking Jasmine Rice in water???? LOL Oh now you got me thinking about Basmati Rice too! lmaoI don't think I'm making anything this weekend. I think it's my turn to finally catch the flu. It hit me like a ton of bricks this morning. So I'll just keep an eye on what you guys make... and drool in the process when ya'll post them in the gallery.

LovelyLathers
CBE, Hope you feel better soon. the flu sucks, rest and drink lots of fluids!! I put about 1.5 cups of Jasmine Rice in cheesecloth put it in a bowl added about 10 cups of boiling water to it. I let it sit on the counter all day, I made sure to squeeze the cheesecloth to get all the goodies out of the rice.. Tonight I stirred the lye in and I put it in a cold water bath so it didn't do anything funky. I was not sure if I would have a volcano or if it would scorch and stink. But I found no evidence of that. I have everything cooling now. I also read that potato water makes a nice soap. Has anyone tried it? jbren
Jasmine Rice water makes a lovely soap!I'm making a batch of Stress Relief with clay beads for my daughter's 'private stash' and I'd like to try a new fragrance I just got with some activated charcoal. Scented
Something! I'll make something. I can't stand the colors of the lilac and ultraviolet I did and I have to make a huge batch of unscented, along with bath bombs and some lip stuff so I can get something sent to some people lol. This may be my last free weekend.
Kimberly
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...Unfortunately most of my weekend will be consumed by candles. However, I do have to make time to make 8lbs of Body butter, 20lbs of Body Polish (Sugar Scrub), 20lbs of Foot Soak, 25lbs of Foot Scrub and 60 16oz Salt Scrubs. I LOVE my Spa Accounts!!!!!!!!WHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I wanna make soap...now that I have pretty colors to play with!AND...the BF and I are going to the Casino tonight.....WISH ME LUCK!!!!...lol
Jcandleattic
Since I have done this the past few fridays and people seem to enjoy it I will do it again. Speaking for myself, yes I enjoy these threads... For me this weekend, it's lotions and maybe roll on perfumes. No soap. I made an UG - LY watermelon soap last week and now I have to restock on oils before I can make more soap. I've been wanting and talking about making lotions for a few weeks now, but it just never seems to happen. I also have to pour some candles, so we'll see if it gets done this weekend. It is in the plans though... LOL
LovelyLathers
Kimberly, It looks like you do have a busy weekend. Good luck and have fun at the Casino. JBren, what are they clay beads like? I have never heard of them. Scented I know what you mean about colors not coming out right. I made a Lilac soap it came out way too pink for my liking but smells great! Do Lilacs come in pink ? I hope so cuz I am not rebatching it! Made a GM Lavender turned all funky on me with a partial gel even in the refrig. It is dark creamy in the middle no signs of the lavender color and outside is a strange pink purple. I never had that happen to it before. It must have been the gel with the GM. TexasBrat
I am going to make GM soap this weekend but have no idea what to scent it with, need to dig and find something that compliments it.
asheebeans
I'm going to try to get into the workshop tomorrow and make a EO blend soap with a rose clay swirl. I haven't made soap in a while and I am going crazy!!! I've been testing new B&B things and plan on doing more of that this weekend too. Louise
Hi, my name is Louise.(Hello Louise)And I admit I'm a fan of this weekly thread too.(watches as everyone else nods there head in agreement)It all started one day, as I was walking down the yellow brick road.... Ah, what to make this weekend. Well, I think I'll rebatch this truly ugly soap that started out nice and since then has turned brown on me. So I'm going to shred some of it and make shower gel. I have some other ideas swirling around in my head so will just snag one of those and run with it.I hope you all show your creations after they're made so we can see them! Scented
Do Lilacs come in pink ? I hope so cuz I am not rebatching it!bETTer pink than BROWN :shocked2: I think I scorched the milk that was in there. I can't be too sure having never done that or seen it. Or the SS Misty Lilac didn't go with the orangish color. On a redo, I'm not seeing any purple ... this could be another scary go. Not sure what I think of the Ultraviolet either. I keep trying for purple rain, but it just won't purplize on me. Now the jonquil ... oh it's a lovely smell and I like the colors so far. LovelyLathers
Scented I had the same thing happen with a lavender eo soap I did. I thought it was a partial gel, It turned a horriable brownish color. I am wondering now if it just was a combo of the SS and gm along with an overheat that did it. I put it in the refrig too.. Maybe the SS Purple voilet doesn't mix with GM too well? I am going to try to take a pic to post and show you.
TexasBrat
My gm soap is done and it is not so pretty. I put it in the oven so I could use it right away and it is all brown. The scent isn't as strong, I used Berts Baby Bees and it smelled good at first but now not so good. I am going to make another batch tonight and put it in the freezer this time. Scented
Well here's the difference in my lilacs ... no comments on the colors because I wanted the tops on the brown ones, just not the brown. The brown one had the milks in it. The other nope. Wanted to see if it was the milks. Now mind you, the non-brown lilac still has another five hours to go or so. Both of these are using Peak's lilac. The liquid is a reddish color, but on the brown lilac I used the easter egg purple and misty lilac. I was thinking surely misty lilac wasn't um brown. I should have reused it, but nah.
LovelyLathers
Here is mine. I can't take pics to save my life. This one is a lighter color than it really is. I have cleaned it up a little as the outside was somewhat a lilac color, so i trimmed it off to try and save it. I hate how it looks for a Lavender eo soap. TexasBrat
They look good Scented. :smiley2: My gm soap stinks, I just lifted them up off the mold and it smells like perm solution.

You should cure it for a few weeks or so to try it if it's CP. It will inmprove with age. Lather will be better and well as being milder IMO. TexasBrat
I did oven hot process and the one that I did take off last night has changed and doesn't smell as bad but as soon as I picked up the others it was stinky. I am never making gm in the oven again.
Fire and Ice
Thurday night I soap Grapfruit/Watermelon in a GM soap and the scent morphed to a rose scent! YUCK I am violently allergic to roses and their scent. 4# batch and it turned out fine. I didn't color it because it's goats milk. The scent is sticking like crazy! I CP it and stuck it right in my fridge and there was no gel! PHEW!But it is curing to a dark tan, which is fine with me because it's a milk soap. Tonight~ I plan to soap Lavender/Peppermint and I will be using Select Shades for the color and I don't know if I want to do just a lavender color ITPS or if I want to do both purple and red and do both colors as ITP swirls. There will be no milk in this recipe. There will be some Pomace OO but only 15%. I did this recipe in a smaller batch and it turned out nice. I plan to do 4# and use a great wooden log mold.:tiptoe: Fire
LovelyLathers
Fire may be your fo will morph back to the watermelon/grapefruit after a week or so. That was a strange morph. The lavender peppermint sounds great. I never thought of that combo, thanks for the idea. I love both scents. I just did an orange 5X and peppermint EO for a gardeners soap and love it. I can't wait to cut it. I also ended up doing a fishing soap with Anise eo. I hate the scent but it sells well. TexasBrat the stickiness should go away after a day or 2 let it cure a little. The cut will harden up. When I first cut mine they are sticky also.
Fire and Ice
Well last night I did a Eucalyptus/Peppermint soap! Unfortunately, it didn't gel. I kept it wrapped in two blankets and a towel and it still didn't gel. It the very same recipe I did the night before for the Lav/Pep soap too. That soap fully gelled in four hours It doesn't really matter because it's still soap. I gave it 16 hours and it didn't gel. Don't know why it didn't gel but it didn't.:undecided But the soap smells great! I cut it and it's curing now.Fire
