ladysj
I am hoping to make up some soap this weekend with coconut milk. I was thinking of maybe toasting some coconut and chopping it up really fine and adding it to the soap.Has anyone ever done this? Thoughts/ideas? *Dee*
i have never done it, i am curious on it though cuz i bet it would be pretty especially if the bar is white but you color the coconut..i know people put coffee grounds and flowers and other stuff in theirs but i dont know about types of food... whether or not you can , i dunno lol... i have never added things to mine but have wanted to .. the only thing i have read is to pour cool so the ingredients you add doesnt get pushed all to the top of the soap... i will be checking this thread later to see all the replies you get cuz i am curious as well
CBE
I tried this one time and my coconut turned black. I even kinda dusted the tops of the soap with coconut. Some of the coconut on the tops did discolor.

CBE
Well POOH I don't want black lol Did you toast the coconut? No toasting... LOL I just chopped them up real good and threw it in the batch. Don't know if toasting it first would be any different... I think it would still turn black. lolBut adding it to the tops... the majority of it stayed pretty and white. It just discolors where it touches the soap.
