Stella1952
Everyone thinks their wax is the best. If you are talking about container blend soy waxes, ecosoya and NatureWax are the top sellers. Good luck!
Gdawg
welcome welcome to the wonderful world of candle tech.Everyone has there own opinion on "best". To me it came down to cost of shipping really. I tried the C-3 and the shipping was killing me and I wasnt getting that great of a throw hot or cold. I had a hard time wicking it too lol.I am now using Ecosoya CB135, tried a couple others b4 that as well but didnt like the throw and shipping cost.Found a supplier close by for the cb135 and tried it and have been in love ever since. FYI I would say your english is very good.
Toni S.
Good Morning and Welcome to our wonderful world of candlemaking!!I'm sure everyone will have their opinions on the best wax and most likely you'll need to experiment yourself and find out what works "best" for you. In the past I've tried EzSoy,loved the hot and cold throw but was not happy with the final results once the candles hardened. I could never get smooth tops and I had tons and tons of frosting throughout my candles no matter what I did. I also tried Ecosoya and was not please with the hot or cold throw compared to the EzSoy although the frosting issue was down to almost nothing. I experimented with a couple others but wasn't please with them either for one reason or another and have now been using C3 container wax for quite some time. This wax isn't the perfect wax either, it has it's ups and downs but in my opinion it has an excellent hot and cold throw and minimal frosting issues for me when I don't add alot of dye to my melted wax.As stated previously, you'll also need to take into consideration the shipping costs because they can be a killer.Good luck on your new venture:D
topofmurrayhill
As others have said, there's no clear answer to which specific wax is the best. You have to decide for yourself which one you prefer. However, one import issue is whether you mind having paraffin in the blend. If it doesn't bother you, then you will do best to choose one of the soy waxes that has a small amount of paraffin added to it. Compared to all-vegetable soy waxes, most of the blends with paraffin are much better in appearance, burn quality and scent throw. As far as Ecosoya is concerned, be careful about CB-Advanced. It looks very good but doesn't work well with most fragrance oils.
Toni S.
I agree with you on the Ecosoya CB advanced!!
geekrunner
I second Top on the soy/paraffin blend. You can pour it at hotter temps, worry less about air pockets and sinkholes, and it takes color much better with no frosting issues. Some of us have discovered "parasoys" after already testing out plain soy, and have kept both for those customers who want a candle with no paraffin. Only drawback to parasoys is that it comes in sticky blocks you have to cut with a butter knife, where the plain soy is flaked and easier to measure.Welcome to the board! your geek
lsbennis
Yup...I agree...I used to be a die hard soy wax only type of girl but ever since I tried 70/30 and 50/50 blends I would never go back to straight soy. But like everyone says the best wax is the one that works for you and your pocketbook...goodluck!
Vio
From all I've read and am learning, the best soy wax is the one you can walk into a store and buy inexpensively, and not pay shipping on, and make work for you. If you can buy soy wax or blends locally, try what they have and see if you can make it "work".
sweetlyloved4
I used to use Ecosoya CB Advanced but the hot and cold throw was not great at all. Even the fragrance oils that were tested on soy and were supposed to work well in soy did not even work in Ecosoya Advanced. However, I have great experience with Ecosoya Pillar Blend is great though but I would never go back to Ecosoya Advanced, I was pulling my hair out with that wax. You're not supposed to be using soy-compatible FOs. This particular brand of solidified salad oil is far too advanced for that. You're supposed to be using CBA-compatible FOs!http://ngiwax.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=
Gdawg
"You're supposed to be using CBA-compatible FOs!"LOL well that explains why I couldnt get a strong throw with it, good thing I am no longer using that wax cause I have yet to see a CBA compatible list of FO's

This particular brand of solidified salad oil is far too advanced for that. You're supposed to be using CBA-compatible FOs!Well, the list program of the "right" FOs and suppliers which Dr. Al said would be ready in about 6-8 weeks from March of last year seems to have stalled, unless I missed something over there... :rolleyes2Jeeze - it's still an unknown many times as to whether a particular FO will work out well in soy-based waxes or not throw or frost like a snowman... NOW even a highly touted "soy" wax is "so advanced" that it won't even work with what is generally compatible with other soy-based waxes? That's beyond double-talk - it's downright road apples and meadow muffins.:rolleyes2 I was actually gonna test the stuff, but I think I'll pass on that one. Guess I am just not advanced enough...:undecided
Eden Sass
I'd love to take a look at that list... how can the PB for tarts be so fragrant and the cba have little ht at all??? How frustrating!
coffeebean
Can you use pb in containers?
Stella1952
Can you use pb in containers? Why would you do that? Pillar wax is formulated to be harder and have a higher melt point; container wax is formulated to be softer and adhere to containers... You can certainly pour ANY kind of wax into a container, but chances are, unless it's formulated for container use, you will not be happy with the results. If you are unhappy with EcoSoya's container blend products, try another manufacturer such as NatureWax C3 or the Golden Brands products...
