comfortscents
My question probably doesn't belong here but I feel so stupid...I have a very large candle that won't fit into any of the bags I have. I pulled out some shrink wrap that I bought years ago but never used..here's my ?...do a use my heat gun or blow dryer to seal?Didn't I tell you it was a stupid question? MissMary
Most people will tell you one or the other, from what I've seen here.My blow dryer does just fine for shrink wrapping anything and melting tops. Others swear a blow dryer doesn't do enough and won't use anything but a heat gun. I think this is pretty subjective, and probably pretty based on the blow dryer, but I think most concur, that you can always use a heat gun, but not always the blow dryer. You might want to wait a bit for a better answer from someone more experienced though. cindym
I use a heat gun on my pillars. Just work fast and you should have no problems.
lindanelson
I started out using my hair dryer. Then I bought a heat gun, (they're not that expensive). The heat gun does a better job than my hair dryer did.
debscent
For shrink wrap you can use your hair dryer if you aren't experienced enough in shrink wrap, sometimes a heat gun will get too hot and a hole will form in the wrap or you could begin to melt the candle. I have someone do my shrinkwrapping for me and she uses a hair dryer, but for my candles, I swear by my heat gun (I have two). LOL!
comfortscents
thanks guys, none of you made me feel dumb..I have both just didn't want to use the heat gun fearing it might melt the candle...I'll just be extra careful...hubby has been using my heat gun to scrape off 100 years of paint on our wainscotting...so I went out and bought another one just for my stuff...he now thinks the heat gun is the greatest thing since pockets...I told him I saw someone on a fix your house up kinda show using a heat gun for scraping and now he stinks up the house every weekend stripping layers upon layers of paint.Happy Thanksgiving All
