sharig
Hey ya'll,Was wondering if someone could reccomend a good tutorial or something on how to set up a website. Hubby is setting it up and has most of it done, however, there are some things that he is having problems with. The bad thing is, I have no idea what he is talking about, so I said I would talk to the "experts" and see if they had any suggestions on a tutorial or a "how to" source.I appreciate it if someone could steer me in the right direction.TIA,Shari

prairieannie
There are so many different platforms on which to build a website that I doubt that there is a single "pat answer" for him. If he happens to be having an issue with a well known shopping cart, or perhaps an open source program he might have some luck finding someone who can help him along... but without that type of information it would be really hard to just send him somewhere for a tutorial. Do you know what type of site he is building? What type of program if any he is using? (Front page, OsCommerce, etc etc.)
sharig
I know he is using Frontpage. From what I can understand from him....is that he is having problems with the shopping cart. He is trying to get the Paypal shopping cart to attach to the website...I guess when you go to checkout it is not updating or allowing you to go back to the website if you want to continue shopping.I'm sorry I can't give you more info right now. He just fell asleep, so I'm kind of at a loss for right now. I think he is sooo frustrated right now, and plus the fact that HE can't figure it out and that HE has to admit he needs help! Ha, ya'll know how most men are.TIA,Shari
MissMary
A good place to start would be to check the forums of the programs you are using. Use the search there and you'll probably get at least 10 ways to solve 1 problem.I was having a few issues with OsCommerce, hopped on the forums and within 10 minutes found what I was doing wrong. If he can't find it there, he can post there and they'll be able to help.
