Joy Wax question...

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

Just want to say hello to everyone. I just found this board a few days ago and must say it's now a site I check several times a day. I have been making candles for the better part of 8 years. Took some time away during and after a divorce but am back in business.

Quick question... How many of you have tried or currently use the blended wax from NG named "Joy Wax"? I ordered some and using it now but I'm having a problem with wet spots and frosting in just about every container I use. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for making this site special!

The original formulation of Joy wax was pretty good, but somewhere along the line, it changed. I had wet spots & frosting also. I tried lowering the pour temp, raising the pour temp, and finally slow cooling in cooling baxes, but nothting worked. When contacted for suggestions, NG simply said "sometimes it does that".

So I created my own blend.

There was one batch I used quite some time ago that was phenomenal and I thought I had found that miracle wax. The next batch I received was so horrible. They stated they were aware of it and would send me out 2 more cases and those were terrible too. After reading all the info on here about the problems people have had with this wax, I decided to call it quits. I tried them for 4 months and was extremely dissatisfiedsantacry
