2rottndogs
I just can't leave a warm mold alone! I can't wait till it's cooled all the way through....NOOOOOOOOO, let's try and pop a warm candle out!I SWEAR!!!! If I had any more bright ideas, I'd be dangerous!Kimberly
2rottndogs
And you know what!?!?! It's not the first time I've done that stupid trick!I should wear a sign..." slow learner, procede with caution!" My OCD must be kicking in, I just can't leave the molds alone!I popped out 4 tonight with horrible results. Can't imagine why that would be!?!?!? I need a to walk away from the molds and .LOL... I even stuck them in the fridge thinking that I could hurry them up!Kimberly

Stella1952
OMG you are SOOOOO right! Whether I am pouring concrete or candles, if they are in a mold, I HAVE to remove myself from their presence or I will mess with them! I have ruined more perfectly good projects with my messin' than I care to remember!
2rottndogs
Well lucky you Stella that it's only mold issue.... I even have to be told to leave the dogs alone when they have stitches!:laugh2:For some reason.... I don't have boundries!Kimberly
Lantern Light Mama
With my palm wax pillars I can actually get away with this! I've pulled them out and can still hear wax sloshing around in the middle of the candle! I rarely do this, and only if it's obvious the candle can just slide out. Then it's all warm and yummy...like bread just out of the oven. I know how you feel...
Stella1952
LLM, that's why I have to leave the area or duct tape my hands... Pulling palm pillars too early can cause them to develop a "waist" :embarasse Worst case scenario is when they sit there and blow out and dump their contents all over the table... yep. I actually DID that...:embarasse
Lantern Light Mama
Oooooh, bummer! Pulling your pillars out a little too early I think? Some of mine get a little bit of a waist whether I pull them out early or not...good point though. Note to self: Need more duct tape... Violetsexoticcandles
Yup... done it! Popped a votive out of the mold, thought it was 'cool,' then had hot wax all over my hand after trying to get the wick pin out. Even now, I pace :tiptoe: while watching them cool... knowing what's happened before.... but OH GOd it kills me to see them. I have that urge to test and what's 12 hours?!!?! LOL... mrchips
Tell me about it! I just finished another huge soy candle. I didn't pace around. I went to sleep, got up, went to work, went shopping, came home, had dinner.... STILL too warm... It was still too warm to de-mold after 24hrs!!Mr Chips
Stella1952
Some of mine get a little bit of a waist whether I pull them out early or notI had this occur because of not doing relief holes. When the top is too thick, the contracting of the cooling middle can literally cave in a place on the side or cause a "waist." :rolleyes2So I do the relief stuff and leave them in the molds until they are cooled. I think they have a better surface when totally cooled in the molds rather than pulling them while still warm and allowing them to cool on the wickpins.
