Agape23
Any one out there make there own candles and sell from home without insurance?
heirloomoriginals
I bet all the answers to this will be to get insurance! If not, you could lose your house and much more if someone decides to sue you. You should be able to get a good rate somewhere. What state are you in???Steph

mizbizzyb
Welcome and good luck. It is not cheap to run a business. The search feature on the board can be one of your bestestestestests friends.
Tereasa
In your searches, you might want to find the threads about people's homes burning down. If you are just starting to make candles, you're going to get responses telling you to slow down. Making candles isn't as easy as some people think it is. I know... you think that you are different. I thought I was different too. I thought that I was good at anything I wanted to be good at. I thought it would be quick, easy money. Several years and several thousand dollars later, I'm still convinced that I can do it. Someday.
smellywax
I think a lot of people blow off insurance when first starting to sell but it is very important to be covered by a policy for your candlemaking and bath/body making!
sakura
where can i find insurance for my products?
mizbizzyb
Start with your homeowners ins agency. Otherwise, there are some links on the board...but you have to use the search feature to find them.

CareBear
I like the post about someone's cat's tail catching fire... (the house did NOT burn down). You NEVER know what can happen, even with the imaginary super responsible customers!
ScentsandMore
Just an FYI. I have read several places that some insurance companies will drop your home owners if they find out that you make candles. Be careful who you ask. Good luck.
