What color for 'Santa's Pipe' and 'Vanilla Bean Noel'?

Recommended Posts

I just poured some votives in 'Santa's Pipe', and I used 5 drops coffee brown and 5 drops black per pound. The best I could think is a very deep brown like the color of tobacco. What would you have colored it?

Also I poured 'Vanilla Bean Noel', and aiming for a very pale creamy tint I used 2 drops per pound of that coffee brown. Does that seem reasonable?

Cool, Scented. :)

I didn't mention what kind of wax I use, and I've found that DOES make a difference with colors. I'm using a blend of Green Leaf 70/30 and IGI 4794 for votives (about half each). I've found that the 70/30 doesn't take color as well as the 4794 does, so I have to use darker colors and/or more black.

I just checked them. The brown/black in 'Santa's Pipe' isn't anywhere near as dark as I wanted, even with all that black, but the creamy color of 'Vanilla Bean Noel' is just about perfect.

Kimmeroo, mine is from www.sweetcakes.com but there may be others. It smells just like a pipe being smoked. A couple days ago when I was pouring that and 'Vanilla Bean Noel' (from Tennessee Candle Supplies) my house smelled amazing!

The color on my 'Santa's Pipe' votives is fugly, and I know it's because of that Green Leaf 70/30. I may try all black and see what that looks like.
