sisterkaren
After being on this board for a while now learning all kinds of info for our candles I have been bitten by the soap bug! Now I am off to buy some soaping books from ebay. I can't take it anymore I have to try soap. Wish me luck. Karen:yay:

doris
You're probably better off relying on the internet for a while, there's a ton of info. Start with Kathy Miller's site, the soapdishforum is also really good. If you are intent on buying, please avoid Norma Coney's book.

sudsnwicks
Karen, have you checked your local library? That's where I got books like The Soapmaker's Companion from.
Crafty1_AJ
A book that helped me learn to make soap was Alicia Grosso's Everything Soapmaking Book. Simple, clear directions and easy recipes.I also gleaned a lot of info from the Cavitch soapmaking books. hth
sisterkaren
I've printed alot off of the Millersoap website so far. I'm going to have to wait until after our busy candle time to start and it is driving me nuts because patience isn't on of my strong points. I have the Catherine Failor "Making natural liquid soaps" . We have so many customers requesting shower gels and we have yet to find a base that we like. Do any of you make the liquid soaps using the potassium hydroxide? Maybe I should post that question in the B&B thread?????
jbren
I agree with AJ, Alicia's books are great. I think you'll do great! Good luck.
