How long does a 10 0z candle burn ??

Recommended Posts

We use a 10 oz apothecary jar, but it only holds 7 - 7 1/2 oz of wax. We double wick them and they burn approximately 25 - 35 hours...some longer.

It's funny, because our 5 oz apothecary, that holds approx 3 1/2 oz of wax, burns about that time also....

You said that you doublewick the larger container. If you are getting the same burn time with a container twice the size, that should be a clue that the larger container is overwicked. ;) Try single wicking or wicking way down on the double. :)

Thanks for the advice.:cheesy2: We use LX 8's and LX 10's for our 10 oz jars...the smallest they have. We use 4630, which is a soft wax. If we try to use one wick, and up it to get the full melt pool, we end up with soot. At this point, we are pretty happy with the way they burn and the length of time...I just find it so funny that when we are testing those darn small jars, will burn FOREVER...lol When we tested wicking votive holders so that people could use them to sample our scents, some of our tester candles would burn 30 hours - with 2 ounces of wax!!! We would be saying "alright, already...be DONE...time to move onto the next scent"....LOL
