Tea
I have just made my first batch of cream soap. I was wondering at what rate the fo/eo's were added? Colouring I assume is to your taste.I have just finished "cooking" it and tomorrow I hope to do the final steps. Should I let it "rot" before I put in the scents ect, or can they be put in before hand?Just wondering how botanicals go in cream soap too. Thanks in advance for your help.Tracey
maryann
I would wait til after the "rotting" stage to add your FOs.Bontanials- are you meaning extracts? I would also wait a little while before adding. Your soap may relax to the point that you won't want to add any extracts or it will become to liquidy.Adding FO and EOs are the same as reg soap- I do .7-1oz per lb with FOs and EO vary depending on the EO. Be careful especially if your making a facial soap as to the amount and which EO you use. Colors- yes to your liking. If for the face I would consider leaving it its natural color or adding gentle clays before or after the cook (before superfatting) for color.HTH
