bunkie68
Stella, thank you so much for all the advice! Wow! Between you and TDTD, I'm hoping my second will turn out even better. I'll have to look when I get home because I can't remember the wick details, but it's possible I've overwicked. And there's an Auto Zone right by my house, so finding the silicone sealant you mentioned shouldn't be a problem. Sucks to think I've got a whole box of glue dots, though. Oh well, that's part of the learning process, I reckon.
bunkie68
Yep, I overwicked. My container is about 2 3/4" in diameter, and the wicks are for 3 1/2" in diameter. So, smaller wicks it is. That's one thing to try!

Oh well, that's part of the learning process, I reckon.Tuck those glue dots away for later...I thought the same things when we switched to the wick stickumms - then realized they worked great for our gift baskets! I would use them to "secure" items and to put between items that I didn't want hitting each other during travel. We finally ran out and I really miss having them...:rolleyes2 We should start a "what to do with glue dots when we all realize they don't work for candles!!!" thread...
