happychandler
I am testing my container candles now and i am having a tiny bit of mushrooming. How much mushrooming is acceptable? I am using 4627, LX-16 wick, 4.5 oz bulb jar with a diameter of 2.5" at its widest point, and i used 1/2 tsp of uv inhibitor pp.
topofmurrayhill
There's no standard for how much is acceptable. Most people will tell you they'll accept a little but not a lot, whatever that means. It's really up to you.It will never hurt the quality of your candles to test possible solutions to a problem or annoyance, if you're up for it. You can play with the wick size, wick type, amount of fragrance, dye and maybe other things to see what the effect is on mushrooming and the overall burn. This blend can be a bit prone to mushrooming because it's relatively hard to burn. happychandler
I think this little bit of mushrooming is acceptable, but i decided to try out the HTP wick to see how that works. Hopefully it doesn't mushroom. Thank you for your suggestion.
