Heat Gun Crisis - Need Guy Help!!

Recommended Posts

I was using my new (bought in 2007) Chicago Heat Gun, purchased from Harbor Frt, today and it just stopped working. I used it to heat a mold to clean it. Turned off the gun, wiped the mold, turned on the gun and nothing. I've checked the circuit breaker, tried different outlets and still nothing. I had my light wt. embossing tool from Michaels for 3 yrs before it gave up the ghost. Now my heavy duty heat gun doesn't even last 8 months!!

It is a 2 speed heat gun. I'm guessing it is something with the on/off/speed selection switch but am clueless on how to fix the darn thing.

Any ideas?? I am desperate!

Thanks

I have an Ace Hardware about 25 miles away and a local building supply place. I'll call both tomorrow. Lowe's and Home Depot are across the bay and then I'd have to pay a $17 toll. Oh the joys of living in the boondocks.

If you also have a hobby store that sells radio controlled airplanes they will have them too. Those also usually have more temp control on them too.

My heat gun from harbor got way too hot so I returned it right away. Ace has them (they are made by Wagner, but have the Ace name on them...or so the salesdude says??) Paid $21.00 and it's been almost a year and still going strong. It has 2 speeds, but I only use low.
