wicks pref for different regions

I live in Arizona, and I have been using GL 70/30 w/ LX wicks. Though some of my scents have burned well ( no hangups on sides, and very clean burning)Istill struggle with a lot of them. It seems that GL sweet cinnamon pumpkin, and theirIndonesian Teak burn very hot. I have a FMP within 15-20 minutes and the glass is too hot to touch. I keep going down in sizes with this wick. So far still the same problem. One thing a little better is that it is not mushrooming as much. I do love these scents, and I want to keep them. But I need to find a better wick. I use an 8 oz tumbler (Crisa), I use 1.2 FO/ lb, I let it burn for 3 hours.

anyway, one of my questions also was that some have suggested that some wicks burn better in one region than the next, and different sizes also play a role. Living in Phoenix, it is very dry, wondering if anyone has suggestions about wick selection.... Thank you
