Lightning Bug
Hi. Just a question. Has anyone brought up the idea that the temperature you originally melt your wax to might change the frost issue in soy? For instance if you melt to 180 and or go 200 or 210 instead and then do everything the same...add color, FO etc., will the lower temperature have less frost? I should do a test, but wondered what others might have found. I know, embrace it...:undecided ...Ugg. Thanks. Beth
kandlekrazy
I don't know about helping frost issues, but most soy wax says not to heat above 200 and I know you shouldn't even keep it at temps above 180 for extended periods of time. Stella1952
Soy wax will burn at high temps, can become off-color and smell a little "burnt." Das why they tell ya not to heat it up that high or to hold it at those temps!Read up on tempering - temperature during melting/pouring DOES play a role in frosting.
