friendlyMOM
How many oils are too many, I have a awesome recipe but it takes 8 oils and 1 butter, is this too many for a bar of soap? In other words, how many is the average usage of oils in a recipe, or is there one?I have a base recipe I like but I want something more conditioning and every recipe I tried running in the lye cal never came out with high enough number till finally I got a perfect batch of soap but it takes 8 oils!Just trying to get a average # of oils most use! Scented
I know quite a few who use 8-10 and quite a few who use less. It's what works for you and if you're comfy with what it costs you to make.
itsmejeffd
I also use a base recipe with 8 oils and 1 butter. The right recipe for you is whatever works. There's no right or wrong.
doris
I try to keep most of my soaps relatively simple, but there is something so lavish about a soap with lots of different oils and butters. I wouldn't want to make every soap like that, but have fun and go ahead.
