ILikeWaxMelts
I've been mildly thinking about dabbling around in the candle making in my basement over the winter... for something to do... My Question is When using color-dyes; Does the Candle usually look darker or lighter When it is completey cooled. As aposed to what it looks like in liquid-form while in the presto pot? Liquid Dye in GeneralOr does this vary with the kind of dyes and additives used? Thanks In Advance...
judyvega
Liquid form normally looks darker than the cooled candle - to see a fairly accurate finished color, I drip a little of the wax onto a white paper plate - several drops on top of eachother. judyvega
No problem. And when I say it looks darker in the pot, I guess what I mean is that if you just eyeball it you'll think it looks like it has plenty of color, and then if you pour it without checking it, it can be far lighter than what you anticipate it to be.
