Candlebuddy
While I'm waiting for my wicks to arrive, I made a few tarts and did some scent mixing. I mixed (50/50) Pumpkin Souffle and Apple Maple, both from www.candlescience.com ... this scent is awesome. I was having a problem with a burnt smell from the Pumpkin Souffle in my candles, but mixed with the Apple Maple it smells wonderful in tarts. nmhoneybear
Rats! Just got an order from them the other day. I already used my sample of the Apple Maple. I'll have to find another apple to mix it with. Thanks for the idea. It sounds great! :smiley2:
debscent
CB--I just test burned my Pumpkin Souffle today (one at work and one at home), 6 oz. tin with a CD 8 and it doesn't smell burnt to me. It does remind me of a hot pumpkin custard though. I poured it at 6%.
KMommy
What a good combo scent suggestion. I'll have to try that:) I love CS pumpkin soufle, it throws great and it doesn't have a burnt smell to me at all. I only use only 6% so maybe at a higher % it would be different. Deb's right it does smell like a hot pumpkin custard.
Tizimarezie
Your blend sounds yummy! I can see where the maple would compliment this FO.I have the Pumpkin Souffle and made a few tarts out of it. I don't smell a burn smell but I'm not fond of the 'toasted' graham cracker aroma. However, everyone who has smelled them so far LOVES them.
Candybee
Sounds like a winner! Don't you just love testing your own custom blends? Apple oils mix well with lots of fragrances. My fav is bayberry and apple. Mmmmm!!!
Candlebuddy
It must be my nose ... I go through this with gingerbread too. I'm waiting on the Pumpkin Butter from The Natural Artisan to test ... if it doesn't work for me, I'm just gonna stick with Pumpkin Crunch Cake (NG) and Pumpkin Vanilla (The Candle Source). By the way, any suggestions for a nice gingerbread? Last year I used the one from Candle Science, but I didn't care for it ... it threw great, but I just didn't like the smell. I was thinking that maybe I could find a nice Spice Cake and just rename it Gingerbread. If not, I'll stick with Gingerbread Applesauce from TNC. Thanks guys.
