Sandalwood Rose

Scented

Recommended Posts

Just read where Christina lost her blue. I tried the sweet cherry color and geranium purple and was hoping to get a dark juniper color out of my SS. I sure don't see any purple and that green looks olive, but hey the soap will be restocked (I hope) and it was a great break from honeysuckle and lilac. And I got to use my monster mold a second time with less mess and less clean up. Scented with Solas' sandalwood rose, which didn't used to move on me and now does. Must have been because of the color thief's presence.

Awww. Funny. I actually soaped this today and I couldn't get a freaking rose color to save my life.. I am so afraid to look at the end result .. Mine is from Solas too. I guess it's the FO. LOL That FO moved quick on me. Oh well.. I will rename it something else. LOL Cant wait to see what it does for ya.

Well there's no purple lol, but there's a light pink and some kind of reddish color. It's still hours away from sitting in the mold for 24 hours.

Mac, I would probably do that. I haven't tried RJ's, only Solas. Had a gal accuse us though of using less oil because it wasn't as strong as a year ago.

I know it's not the colors you were wanting, but I really like the colors it is now.

When I think of sandalwood, I always think "earthy" colors and I definitely see an earthy rose color and think the green matches with that.

I can't wait to see in unmolded also.

Come on we need some soap porn!! :)

  • 1 month later...

now i soaped this and didn't have any trouble even with a water discount. ( 2 x lye amout). soap room temp.

i colored mine with burgandy oxide after taking out a small amount for swirling.

i lucked out and ended up with a dusty rose base with white swirls. it's a month old and didn't darken like i was afraid it would.

i have never sniffed this fragrance before at bbw so wondering how close is this frag oil to the real thing. all i get out of it is the sandlewood when i give it a sniff

barb it.

I use this one in my tallow soap and have found if my oils are a tad warmer and my lye sol room temp I have more time. All of the tallow soap I make is that way...for some reason if my oils are too cool it moves major fast! I can definately detect the Rose in there after a full cure. I was going for dark pink and cocoa brown swirls in mine using Celestial Colors and ended up with a dark red-berry and deep deep purple instead.
