sisterkaren
We are about to embark to the world of votives. Up to now we have only done container candles using c-3. We have the 4 oz. glass flower pots, but would really rather sell the votives. I have 10 lbs of 474 to start with. My question is, when repouring the tops is it easier to save some of the wax already mixed with the fo in a separate container and remelt in the microwave or to mix another batch of wax and repour. Any tips would be helpful. I know that it is another trial and error and see what works best for the individual, but I was just looking for some starting points. Candlebuddy
With the wax I'm using now, I don't have to repour ... however, when I was making votives with a different wax, I would save & remelt the some wax for the repour. It was easier for me ... I found it to be less time consuming, and I never had to worry about matching the color to the original pour. sisterkaren
Thanks, I edited my post from v-1 to 474 that I got at the candle makers store. Somedays I scare myself at how clueless I am:o
Stella1952
If the batch is fragranced and colored, it would be best to reserve some for repours because it will be difficult to EXACTLY match a new batch.Single pour waxes save a lot of time! grama
I always mix extra wax than what I will need and what is left I pour in tarts. When I am ready for repour just melt the tarts and top.
Stella1952
I use NatureWax V1 or IGI2778 palm wax.
