Clean 19

Condit 52

creamy 29

IO 65

INS 146

I sure would appreciate input... good or bad. I have alot of trouble putting the numbers together to get the best soap qualities. So many of you have been a great help to me, and just wanted to thanks you all again. I have been soaping for about 7 mos now. I am using the CPRT method "LOVE IT "

I have "E" to thank for that. So much easier, less fuss and stress !!

When I am confident in the soap making, I must take up typing :laugh2:

Thanks all, Lisa

the second recipe looks nice , But hardness is not listed so I went to calc and comes out at 43...seems nice- give them a go

First recipe is missing something I think percentages are not adding up to 100% and I was a bit concerned about th amount of sao. I have never used it in soap so not sure if it is associated with DOS

1st recipe, I would not use so much SAO. I myself would take that percentage down to 5-10%, and up the lard. I also would not use as much avocado oil, or babassu and would take those amounts down (to 5%) and add in PO or PKO or a combo of both or another oil or butter (OO, castor come to mind). Plug it into the soap calc and see what you get.

With the second recipe, I myself would also not use as much GSO as it has a short life and I think you could run the risk of getting DOS. I'd take that amount down to 5% and maybe get some babassu oil in there or another oil or butter and run it through the soap calc.

This would be how I would change these recipes but that does not mean that your recipes won't be nice recipes either. The soap calc numbers are not set in stone and are not always a fair indication of the soap that you will get. The only way to really know if some recipes will work is to just try them out. Lots of pleasant suprises can come out of it.

Oh lord! I have several soaps curing with 30% SAO. :o

Like CB said, there is nothing wrong with that. I myself would not use that much SAO in my soaps. It is a very nice oil that I think can provide plenty of benefits to the soap at 5% or 10%.
