Wick'n'Wax
Just wondered what the most common way of testing samples was? for the actual fragrance, rather than melt pool etc.I get them in 0.4oz bottles which makes 3 votives, is this the most common way, or do others make tarts? Pam W
I make a short 3" candle to test the FO. I get a better idea of the scent & it's throw with the larger melt pool - two birds with one stone! If the FO is a scent that I'm wanting for B&B, then I add a few drops to a tiny lotion bar and wear it for a while to see if I like it...sometimes I have to get up close and personal with a fragrance to see if it will be a keeper. Candybee
For candles I test 1 oz samples in 1 lb of wax poured into either a 16 oz jar or 2 8oz jars. That gives me a good idea how well the fragrance works in the wax.For my soap a 1 oz FO sample goes a long way. Some fragrances I test for both soap and candles, others are for one or the other depending on if they are body safe or not.
ILikeWaxMelts
If we could only get a-hold on some shampoo fragrances for our candle making... L0L
