Brentleecandles
i know this may be a dumb question, but when making wax critters, can i use frangrance other than FO? the critter won't be lit, so i don't thnk it poses any danger, but i'm still a newbie. I was thinking of using some scents that i have in Bath & Body oil or Potpouri oil.
Candle Man
i know this may be a dumb question, but when making wax critters, can i use frangrance other than FO? the critter won't be lit, so i don't thnk it poses any danger, but i'm still a newbie. I was thinking of using some scents that i have in Bath & Body oil or Potpouri oil.I would say NO.Most refresher oils on the market are cut with something like DPG, alcohol etc. and will not mix with wax. Candles by Lisa
I agree. When I first started making candles I used any old scent. Quickly discovered you could end up turning the candle into a liquifying blow torch or that they would smell absolutely gorgeous when they were just made but as soon as they set there was absolutely no smell to them whatsoever. I would stick with good quality FO.Hope this helps.Lisa
grandmaskitchen
I would definitely not use anything other than an eo or fo when making scented critters. If it has an alcohol base, it could be a potential fire hazard. You should stick with fragrance oils you would normally use in candles. Scented
Nope, you need pure FO. You can't use the stuff from a perfume bottle and you don't want the cut stuff. Guess you could go to the expense of using EOs though.
