Lightning Bug Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Hi. I'm getting ready for my first cane and looking at different things to put into them...can you use any plastic or metals? I did notice that directions said to remove the wire veins on silk flowers but no explanation why. Just wondered if the wax doesn't stick or if it causes some kind of reaction with these products. Donita Posted March 26, 2007 Share Posted March 26, 2007 I always use metal....I like the tine ones with "feet" on the bottom so I can wrap my weights around the base for the waterbath. I wouldn't use the wires because it keeps the flower or petals away from the side of the mold and you wouldn't be able to see it.
