Any help please?Oh and I really want to use Mago ButterAny help appreciated
Crafty1_AJ
Here's a rough guideline for ya:75% water15% butters & oils10% emulsifiers and thickeners (Polawax and stearic, for example)To this, add your mfr's recommended guidelines for preservative usage (mine I use at 1% of my total formulation, for example).Of course, follow general lotionmaking procedures such as sanitizing everything, heating & holding phase, adding preservative below a certain temp, etc.hth

Crafty1_AJ
I just make a 10% bleach solution and dip everything in that, then rinse in boiling hot water, then set out to dry on clean paper towels. I wear gloves during the whole procedure, and re-dip into the bleach water as needed. I also keep a spritzer bottle of rubbing alcohol on hand for quick touch-ups. I know some lotionmakers wear a hair net too.
Hibiscus
A hair net is definitely a good thing. I wash everything down in a bleach water solution and then spray everything down in alcohol and I do mean everything. I also keep spray bottles of bleach water and alcohol for touch ups. I spend more time steralizing everything than actually making the lotion. So far making lotion is the easiest thing that I make.Have fun with it! traceyy
I am sooooooo excited! I cant wait for my order from MMS to get here! Although I can see it now, the oils will get here, I will make excuses for 3 weeks before I attempt it, than I will spend an additional 6 weeks steralizing and trying to find a pretty hair net before I get the guts to try to make it!! lol When I decided to make soap it took me about 2 months to get the nerve to mess with the lye. Of course after I finally made soap I lol@myself for acting so stupid.
