ladysj Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I just got feedback from one of my testers. She said they didn't fizz. What could possible have happened? I used the snowball bomb recipe in the recipe section. She did say that other than them not fizzing she loved them the left her skin feeling really soft. Quote
blazerina Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Did your test bombs fizz correctly? You might also want to make sure your definitions of 'fizz' are the same. Sometimes people expect more than what they should get, lol. Quote
Bunny Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Yup... Girl, in order for you to sell bath tub items, you've got to use them! Can you take baths at a friend or neighbors hourse? Rent a hotel? Something?? Quote
ladysj Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 Well 2nd tester said they didn't really fizz either. What to do? Quote
asheebeans Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Well, the way that I test bath and body items is that I use them first for a while. Then if they pass the dry skin test, I give them to my daughter who has sensitive skin. She uses the product for a while.....THEN they go to the testers if we both agree that the product rocks! This way I can see firsthand plus I can get my daughter's picky point of view before I get the tester's reaction. Quote
Meridith Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 You might have activated the citric acid and baking soda by allowing the mixture to get too wet. That happened to me once. It sucked. Quote
lindsaycb Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 How old was your citric acid?I had some that was a couple years old...made perfect bombs...but the fizz...bit some serious BEHIND. I'd guess that's your culprit. Quote
jrogers397 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I always do a couple small random bombs from each batch and after they harden up I fill my kitchen sink up and pop one in there and test for fizzyness . I know if they have too many oils in them they don't fizz a whole lot but they feel great. I also had a batch that I didn' t have the citric and the baking soda mixed up thoroughly and parts fizzed and parts didn't . Now I always grind my citric up and make sure I mix really really good. If you have any left just market them as bath candies or something and don't market them as fizzies.Janis Quote
ladysj Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 The age of the citric could be it. I just dropped one in the kitchen sink it fizzed and bubbled for me. I don't know what they are wanting lmbo. I'll try it with my new citric and see if that makes a difference and I also my container wasn't quite big enough to mix it all in at once. So off to make more. They do smell awesome and leaves the skin feeling great. Going to have to go to my sis in laws this weekend and borrow her bath tub. That sucks not having a bath tub I miss my long hot baths. Quote
