I am wondering if it is is possible to use fresh advocado in either soap or some sort of body butter or any body product. I have bought a dehydrator to dry my own orange slices and it was so successful I am trying other fruits and vegtables.I don't like advocado so I never buy them but I saw some at the market and thought I would buy one to cut up and dry, I have done that and they look really good. While I was cutting it up the flesh felt really yummy, still don't like the taste, and I have seen advocado soap and body cream and I wondered if I could use this lovely mushy stuff. I know you can buy advocado oil and butter but what about the fresh flesh?

If you do a search, there have been a few threads discussing putting differend kinds of produce in soap. I'm sure avocados has been discussed. You might be able to find some useful information.

You can probably puree it and use it as part of your liquid in cp soap. Don't overdo the quantity otherwise it could go bad on you.

Yup, for soap, I would recommend 1 tablespoon per lb of oils.

For lotions and butters? I would make it in scrubs and stuff, but not leave on products, and for personal use only. It'll grow mold pretty quick. I would make a scrub and store it in the fridge if I had any leftovers (but I'd be apt to use it on my whole body, not just my face) and use it or toss it in 3 days.

Thanks for the replies, I can't find any links about using fresh produce perhaps someone could give me one? I wondered if there was some preservative I could use when using fresh advocado?

When I was cutting the avocado up on Saturday it just felt so yummy and creamy I just felt I wanted to smear it all over some part of me!! It felt like it had already been made into something! perhaps I ought to just stick to advocado oil!
