Georgia Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 KY sales tax is due Wednesday. In true fashion, I have waited till the last minute. I went to where I last saw my log in information and it isn't there! I always put it in the same place - well, except last time, I guess. I have searched for the last hour. Can't find it. The password is 9-12 characters, upper and lower case, at least one number and at least one special character. There is no way in h*ll I could remember something like that! That's why I wrote it down. But where did I put it???Oh, when I try to log in, it says "incorrect password, contact Georgia M* at ***-***-**** for assistance". That's ME!! And I am no help. I sent an e-mail and will try calling in the morning. Sheesh! Why do I procrastinate so?!?! Quote
lindanelson Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Take a deeeeeep breath!!!!If you call them, I'm sure they will help you, so you get it paid on time. Quote
LaVida Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 does it have to be postmarked by wednesday? I'm sure you'll find it. Do a PC search in all files... let the PC search for you.... Quote
doris Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Don't worry, you still have a whole 3 days. But seriously, anything which is not too sensitive (like a bank card password), I usually write on the wall in an unobtrusive place. Try losing that.Doris Quote

Of course they are pretty obvious, and fall off and disappear anyway! Quote
LynnS Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Hey I always forget my passwords.I go on a Board and then maybe 6 months later think I will join.Oh wrong password(already joined).Since e-mail address is what they go by I play havoc.I try my name etc.Even try to make up a new one(name) and still no luck.I should write them all down or I will have to contact the companies all the time.I at least get it sent to me sometimes and that is a big help.Yours is in your personal info and that will be bad.I think what I will do is keep a jar with my tax money and have it when I get ready to pay taxes. That is something I have thought about. I just got my tax ID but for Ohio I have about 3 weeks before it is due(after due date..I think June 23 and can be as late as mid July.Jan-June June-December.And then I bet due a late time for Jan.Need to get paperwork out.My county gave me the info but when I sent my paperwork in to get a transiet tax ID they never sent any info.Just the number and something to put at show when I do them.No info when things are due etc. LynnS Quote
Late Night Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 A little off topic but...I have a word document in my computer that has all of my user names and passwords written in it. No way can I remember them all. I also burn a CD of everything in "my documents" about every other month or so. That way if/when I loose everything in the computer I've only lost as far back as my last burn off. Quote
grama Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I use RoboForms to store all my info - user names, passwords, and you can even enter your credit card, bank, address info. If if wasn't for that I would also be screwed!!!!hth Quote

Georgia Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Thanks for the commiseration and suggestions. I had it written down on an envelope from the state and had it in my recipt file. It ain't there. It ain't on my desk either, but on a bright note my desk is now clean!Think I'll just go read a book...*sigh* Quote
LovelyLathers Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Did you maybe put it with last years taxes? I have done that. I am also always losing passwords. What a hassle it is. Quote
candlesprite7 Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I keep all my important login information (usernames and passwords) in a little notebook I keep in my safe...it really does come in handy since these days we all probably have 100 usernames and passowrds to try to remember...lol Quote
Scented Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Can't help you find what you're looking for, but we can talk about procrastination. I've been asking it about myself all weekend. Best answer I have as to why I procrastinate is, because I can. It sucks. Quote

RobinInOR Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm bad - I know better but I've got all my passwords in my business recipe/note book, and guard that with my life. I'm horrible at remembering combos too - don't know how many times DH has told me the combo to his safe - he's written it on a wall too, but I don't remember which one or which room Quote
Bunny Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I put all mine in a Word document then password protect the whole thing with a super easy to me password. I'm also a "burn every month" kind of gal. Too many times I've dealt with pc's crashing and lost everything. Quote
gingerinarkansas Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 We use the Rolodex to keep the "not important" passwords in...just fill out a card and let them mingle with the telephone numbers. The real important ones are put up somewhere but I don't remember where. Guess I might want to check on this stuff, huh? Ginger Quote
Georgia Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 Yeah! I just got off the phone with Jackie and my password is reset. I may have it tatooed somewhere on my body! Quote
guppygirl Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 LOL Georgia, the tattoo is a great idea. If I did that with all my user names & passwords I'd have a full body tattoo though! BTW, are you talking your KY sales & use tax? Because I just looked at the due date on mine (yea, I put it off until the last minute too) and it's not due until the 20th.Good luck! Quote

I have it on my calendar in big letters on the 10th - taxes due. Sometimes, I scare myself. Quote
Scented Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 LOL Georgia! But hey, it has all worked out right? Quote
