I really like the round molds for candles is it safe to make them out of soy or do you really have to use a wax base . I am sorry is this is a dumb questions i really want to make them and dont know if soy is the right way to go. Thank you

thank you i am going to find a good wax then does anyone has a good ideal for what kind of wax i should use i have only made gel candles before so i have no ideal. Thank you

Soy has a lower MP than paraffin, and is a softer wax. It is also more opaque. I am not saying you can't use it, just that paraffin is more suitable, because of the higher MP and that it's more transluscent. A good soy blend can make some nice pillars, but IMO, you can't get as creative with them, as you can with the paraffin.

There are soy pillar waxes. And I add a bit of stearic to mine to harden a bit. But it is true you are quite limited as to what you can do with soy for pillars.
