I found these bags at hobby lobby, and was wondering if anyone else uses them. I have been using them in a double boiler, but wasnt sure if it would soak up the fo or not. I havent had a good sent throw either hot or cold with many of the candles i have made, so wasnt sure if it was the bag, or just the way i am doing them in general.

I used them waaaaay back when. What kind of FO are you using? Going out on a limb I'm suspecting your FO problem is from using craft store oils. Using oils from a candle supplier is going to give you much better results than oils from Hobby Lobby.

Right now i am using fo from hobby lobby. I placed my first order with BCS today, hopefully i will have it by thursday :yay: I cant wait to start using something of better quality, even though the other was good to start learning with.

I have never heard of those bags. I use a pour pot and a large pan for my double boiler. I would think a bag would be difficult. You will get much better results with good quality FOs. Also make sure you are using a thermoter. FOs bind with wax better at higher temps, I mix mine at 180.

My mom gave me some of those bags once, then i gave them back to her about a year later and she used them for putting wax on top of jelly's when she was canning stuff.

I think you will definitely be happy with your new stuff from a real candle company.
