1. does it accelerate in CP?

2. does it discolor?

3. does the scent morph into something ungodly?

4. does the scent hold true after a full cure?

5. does it do camouflage tricks with color several months down the road?

Other than asking whether or not it contains floaties... there really isn't much to ask about it in wax since everyones formulas and waxes get different results anyway. What works for me, won't necessarily work for you. I may get killer throw and use a LX wick, but you get no throw with a zinc. Climates seem to have an effect on burn, etc as well. IMO, the variables are just too great.

You've got hot and cold throw in wax, but short of saying you're going to help a supplier out with notes (as several have that option) and not following through, WTH is the point of this thread?

That is the extra value you get when you purchase fragrance oils at The Scent Works .. they test in CP soap so you have a good idea if they will work for your application. Well worth the extra money on the oils for me.

Not always the case, but at least there's a starting point, eh? Another good place to find info is on that scent review place Eugenia posted somewhere.

I love the scent review board, but it would be nice if it was right there on the supplier web page so I don't have to stop what I'm doing and go look. On the other hand, maybe it's GOOD to be interrupted... LOL

Yes, I like the scent review board too and I always check there before I buy a different fragrance oil for soaping. If nothing else it slows me down before I buy on a whim .. that's a good thing also. Just wish more people would post their reviews on the board.

Agree with you Scent Cellar!

I personally think that asking suppliers to give other information is a joke because not all batches are the same. Case in point, an FO works like a dream for me except for a discoloration -- for another it seized. We might know more about these things if others would take the time to update like I feel some suppliers take the time to test their products before selling them. At some point the consumer has a responsibility or should just be quiet. JMO

my my. I'm not asking for guarantees - just cautionary statements perhaps.

Some of them have them. Others are getting them put up as fast as they get them. Most have others testing for them, generally more than one person ... so there isn't much a supplier can do if her or his tester isn't giving ... perhaps you could step in and offer your comments to them or add them at the scent review ...

no my, my needed.

good idea about offering comments, and I'm working to update the Scent Review Board.

I didn't mean anything in particular by that "my my" thing - just my way of saying that it was an interesting statement to me. I value your opinion very much and your comments are important to me - it is good to get a different perspective.

As a small supplier I couldn't agree more with this statement. We have one fragrance that did seize for our testers but it was so good that we took a chance on it and ordered. I subsequently tested it in CP with no accelleration as did a couple of customers who posted results for me. I guess it depends on the recipe and the soaping techniques of each individual. I follow the posts on here that some post about my FO's and their results. I love it when the full results are posted as to discoloration, acelleration, scent throw after the cure etc. This really helps me out as far as compiling data on the fragrance. IE- were our test results consistant with consumer use? I do try to make sure we add test results to our discriptions on our site. (working on the new site right now, fixing typos etc. LOL)

Thanks so much Cindy. I'm so happy it's back up at least even if I still have lots to do on it. I'm sure I'll appreciate it much more as soon as I can find my way around and kind of know what I'm doing. My son is thrilled because I have access to this new site and he doesn't have to shoulder all of the web problems himself. LOL. I'm particularly tickled that it has a place for reviews and I am hoping all my buds here will post how the FO's are performing for them. Will be adding lots of new goodies in the next couple of months too. The testing continues........
